Protecting the City

According to Dr. Jennifer Avegno, New Orleans Health Director, cases of Covid-19 in New Orleans shoot up significantly as well as rate of positive patients. However, it is alarming in a way that the numbers have doubled from the succeeding weeks.

According to the Covid-19 dashboard of the city, there is an average of 81 new cases of Covid for the past weeks. Then as for positive rate, there is an increase of over 2%.

Dr. Avegno also stated that this upward trajectory is truly alarming. She mentioned as well that the city don’t want to happen to what is happening to other cities where they’ve resorted back to total lockdown to contain the spread of the virus.

Healthcare Professionals in Action

Dr. Jeffrey Elder, one of the medical director of emergency department at University Medical Center said that their hospital is noticing an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients. Dr. Elder is becoming extremely cautious with their staff and hospital because if this has been dealt with without proper care, the number of cases can just explode in no time.
